Sorry for so long time beeing quiet with my blog, season have kept us busy.
Finally this season turned to be not so quiet than we were counting earlier, so we are looking forward to summer and specially to coming winter! My fingers are allready burning to start making some new things for the next season! Nothing very massive things, but several small details making our farm even more pleasing for our client. I will write about those funny things when they are actual, so i dont promise too much now:))
For summer client we offer canoe tours and huskyfarm holidays like before. Late summer will be even possible to make owernight huskytours to our Jänisvaara cabin.
My crew made again very good work this winter. Im happy to get feedback from our client about friendly and helpfull job they have made.
Also i can not forget hard work dogs have made!! Winter was not the easiest one for them with the long, cold and windy weather condition in the begin and very snowy ending of the season. Old dogs carried again big responces for many days and kilometers. Santana, Nansen, Nelson, Cheska, Zerro, Paz have done the 10. season now allready!! Pazis, Viska and Cheska will stay in pensin now. It was very strange to take their harnesses of for the last time and i dont find words enough to say thank you to them!!
But life goes on...and we already got big help from our strong yearlings strong Boomer, big boy Fuji, Mosse and Jehu, crying Leon and the girls Etna, Viivi and Manta from Hekla puppies and fast Ali and Aada from Saris Maisa litter. Also Verneri and Vihtori from Iris pup's joind some tours allready and made a perfect job!
Im very impressed about all of those yougsters, I know they will bring lot of funny and powerfull kilometres in future and i even dream to go raceing with them one day!
Im looking for Storm and Wing and Marina to get in heat. i would like to get puppies out of them this summer. Actually we have 5 week old puppies from Fee. Fee is fast and hart working female out of top sprint lines. The father is Tjo Tjo. TjoTjo's mother is a Jeff King Iditarod dog and father was from Sven Engholm / Harald Tunheim Finnmark leaders. So there should grow up fast dogs wich will go als far if needed:))
Some chances for my crew will come in future. Jussi who have been one of my main guide will start own company in Kolmiloukko camping. Minna will be together with him having that place. Good thing is that we are goin to work close together and Jussi and Minna will also do our programs in future too. Lets keep our fingers cross that they have good start for new place!!
My new project i'm developing are better possibilities for mushers who need training facilities. Some chances will come on the farm and Kolmiloukko will come. Also something much bigger for mushers is on prosess but its bit early to publish those things yet so lets keep sugar still in bottom..
Next winter we will have several huskyprograms for clients again. There is our huskytour with 5 huskydays, our husky-multi with 3 huskydays and snowmobile/snowshoe programs and also our farm-multi with husky, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, reindeer farm visit and snowmobile day. For accomation we have possibles on the farm, in the Hotel Hekko, several cabin choices and also in Kolmiloukko with Jussi and Minna.
This came long story finally.. need to let something for next time. Maybe Im goning to write the next blog on a more warm place where people eat Rösti and lisneng jodling and time is measured with cuccoo watches:)) but that one is then other story.
